Beggar's Night table topper

This would be Patrick's first choice for the class for these reasons:

1. Simple shapes for machine satin-stitching
2. Student learn technique for stitching and pivoting on inside and outside star points
3. Candy corn shape makes it easy to learn simple curves
4. Smaller appliques are more manageable
5. Fun choices for fabrics
6. Students will learn Patrick's technique for creating bulk-free binding corners.
7. Night Owls will probably like the fact that there is also some simple piecing in this project.
8. Brand new unpublished project - they will be the first to make.

Autumn in the Air placemat

This would be Patrick's 2nd choice for the class for these reasons:

1. More complex satin stitching - a little more difficult for beginners
2. Great practice on satin stitching stitching curves
3. More sophisticated combination of fabric colors
4. Students will learn Patrick's technique for creating bulk-free binding corners.
5. Brand new unpublished project - they will be the first to make.
