Mug mats are popular because they're so easy to make and they're great gift ideas. You'll find some in each issue of Quilting Celebrations and we got lots of comments on the first ones we offered for Party with Patrick. With it's cupcake theme, this one would make a great birthday gift for friends or co-workers.
There's an optional embroidery file available this month for the cupcake, as pictured. It's also easy to use a machine satin stitch, which is great for making the "jimmies" sprinkled on the frosting.
